"We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land on which we stand together hand in hand. We pay our respects to the Elders, who hold all the memories and traditions. We will take care of the land, sea and community. Together we respect the Elders both past, present and emerging. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their culture, like the Gunai Kurnai people of this land."
~Written by Estelle and Evie, Grade 3
Yarram Primary School is an inclusive environment where we aim for all students to feel safe and comfortable in who they are. Learning about diverse perspectives brings depth of understanding to us all. From an embedded approach to including First Nations Peoples' perspectives in our curriculum, to nominating Cultural Diversity Ambassadors as student leaders, we work to ensure that our inclusive school culture is woven into the fabric of who we are.
